  • Marketing Assistant

    CambridgeIP is seeking a business development assistant. You will join a dynamic and innovative team, assisting the Chairman and senior consultants to develop and implement business and marketing strategy for CambridgeIP's suite of services (see www.CambridgeIP.com). Your role will involve both digital and traditional marketing methods. The role will include several of the responsibilities set out below. However it is flexible enough to allow for the integration of the background, experience and interest of the successful candidate. Key responsibilities will include:
    • Secure telephone and in-person meetings for our senior team members
    • Undertake sales related administration, including capturing sales leads and logging these to our internal contact database
    • Manage a calendar of networking and speaking events that our team attends
    • Help in planning sales trips in the UK and abroad
    • Help develop, evaluate and improve business development management processes
    • Support research into user needs and product-feature requirements
    • Assist with market size, market composition and pricing analysis
    • Assist with building client support processes and resources
    • Work with Directors and Senior Associates to develop marketing materials and resources, market positioning, sales goals.
    • Help build and manage our digital marketing strategies, including monitoring of SEO performance, developing market segment-focused digital marketing, undertaking social media marketing, and marketing in other online channels
      Person Specification: You will be enthusiastic and personable, with good telephone, email and online social network skills. Experience in online marketing, market research and copy editing would be an advantage. You may have a sales or marketing degree or diploma, or an undergraduate degree.       CambridgeIP is employing analysts with backgrounds in Physics, Engineering or Electronics. You will join a young and innovative team; assisting senior consultants perform market research and technology analysis in a range of technology-market spaces including energy, material sciences and life sciences. You will review patents, science and other technology and market literature, and will assist in the creation of analytic reports covering technology and intellectual property landscapes. You will have opportunity to contribute to client projects, including the preparation and delivery of client presentations. You must have a degree in engineering or the physical sciences discipline and experience in one or several of the following areas:
    • Academic research in a physical sciences, engineering or related area
    • Work with bibliometric analysis, big data or patent data analysis
    • Strong data analysis experience
    • Experience of applying scientific knowledge in a business context
